Another World's Lisa Peluso

May 5, 1998

SODhost: AW's Lisa Peluso (Lila)
is here! :) Welcome, Lisa!

LISA PELUSO: Hi everybody!
Sorry I'm late, I appreciate your
patience. I was yelling at my
parking attendant across the street.
That's why I was late, I had to
park my car

jess26guest_ba028039 asks: are
you anything like Lila?
LISA PELUSO: You should ask
the parking attendant, he would tell
me I am! LOL But no, I don't think
so :)

AngieTO asks: Is your accent real? If not, you're doing a very
good job!
LISA PELUSO: Thank you so much. No, but I have family in
Louisiana and friends in Texas and North Carolina and a
couple in South Carolina. I know people all over the South so
I'm used to the accent.

BAGuice asks: Hey, Lisa - how's my favorite sis-in-law?
Thought I'd join you in your chat!!!
LISA PELUSO: I'm fine.. How come you haven't returned
my phone calls about mother's day? :)

Alexa_67 asks: Hi. My name is Chris, I'm from
NY. I know that you and "Vicky" have an
on-screen war, but off camera, do you have a good
relationship with Jensen?
LISA PELUSO: Yeah, I love Jensen, I think she's great

Grob2269 asks: Hi Lisa, I've enjoyed your work for many
years, and was wondering, were you ever considered to make
the move to The City? I never understood why in my opinion
the most popular star of Loving wasn't asked.
LISA PELUSO: I wondered that myself. Actually, I know
they wanted to start a new show. I'm just kidding... but they
got rid of Ava and the Aldens and all that was typically
Loving, because The City was supposed to be brand new.

Spunky88_88 asks: What was the best and worst thing about
working on Loving?
LISA PELUSO: The best thing was Randy Mantooth [Alex
Masters] and Nada Rowand [Kate Rescott] who I absolutely
adored. I'd say the worst thing was that it was a 1/2 hour, so
we couldn't really dive into storylines the way hour shows can.
With commercials, I think it makes the show 18 minutes long...
What can you do in 18 minutes but act fast! And we did.

Teri86 asks: I have watched you ever since you were in
Search For Tomorrow as Wendy Wilkins. You are great.
LISA PELUSO: Shucks.. ::blush:: ::shuffle:: Thank you.

Katyia_89 asks: What's it like working with Tom
Eplin?
LISA PELUSO: Tom is a really terrific actor and
I've known him for years so he's very familiar... so I think he's
great and I think it would be crazy if he weren't nominated for
an Emmy next year. He's done some amazing work this year.

Sweetangell1998 asks: Are you married?
LISA PELUSO: Yes.

Sunshineguest_158d27489 asks: Where are you from?
LISA PELUSO: Originally Philadelphia, but I've lived in New
York most of my life.

Jaketheman5 asks: Could you comment on
Charles Keating's situation?
LISA PELUSO: It's just so sad to see Charles go.
He will be terribly missed by fans and cast alike...
but who knows he could always come back.

Drknowit asks: How does it feel to be part of such a long
running Soap Opera (and also the best, I might add)?
LISA PELUSO: I think AW is pretty terrific myself, however
I was part of a longer running show before, Search for
Tomorrow which ran for 35 years

Superb4 asks: Lisa, Stephen (Cass) was recently in
my home town and he said that the two of you were
going to be an item, True or False?
LISA PELUSO: I think eventually, but right now
we're just sparring partners. But I think they
genuinely admire and like one another. There's definitely
something brewing in the future there for these two. I adore
working with him.

RYaddaYadda asks: Who is the father of the baby Lila is
carrying? Is it Matt's?
LISA PELUSO: I don't know!! I wish I knew! I think it's
really Matt's. I think Lila thinks it's really Matt's, but you know
I never got a definitive answer from Dr. Nolan and you know,
home pregnancy tests can be wrong. She just panicked and
decided to switch the sonograms. It could be anyone's baby!
LOL

__Meg asks: I love your character! How much input do you
have into what direction your scripts take?
LISA PELUSO: Well I certainly give my input and I don't do
it unless I feel it's absolutely necessary, because I think it's the
writers job to write, my job to act... So only when I think it's
absolutely necessary, since I play the character and I created
her. But when do give input it's generally listened to, which is
one of the reasons why I like working at AW.

Smerid asks: Lisa do you hope they couple you with Stephen?
LISA PELUSO: Yes. I think we could have a lot of fun
together.

Jaketheman5 asks: Who do you enjoy working most and why?
LISA PELUSO: Oh, that's unfair.. I like working with
different people for different reasons. It would be so hard to
just pick one, I don't think I could

lacey27guest_29bc29954 asks: Why don't you and Grant
just go ahead and go to bed together?
LISA PELUSO: Oh, I despise him! :) I mean Lila despises
him... There would be nothing in it for her...

Aramix asks: My question--what are some of your future
goals-career wise?
LISA PELUSO: Hmmm... just to remain a working actress. I
hate being unemployed. As far as which venue... any -- TV,
film, etc.

LadySirun asks: I haven't a question. I'd just like to say that
your performance on the show is extremely admirable. Your
character is that which I both love and hate most on the show.
Your acting expertise most certainly does your character
much. Thank you.
LISA PELUSO: Shucks.. ::blush:: ::foot shuffle::: Thank you

Rdawson_99_Titanic asks: Do you like your character that
you play on Another World??
LISA PELUSO: Yes, very much.

Doodle96 asks: Are Jake and Vicky getting back together??
LISA PELUSO: Well I certainly hope so... Aren't they great
together?

guest_44bc29821 asks: How was it working with
RKK?
LISA PELUSO: I loved working with Robert. As
a matter of fact, we still keep in touch. I saw he and
his wife Miriam in Massachusetts about a month or so ago. I
was doing a make-a-wish event up there in Springfield.

Grob2269 asks: Is John Travolta as nice as a person
everyone says he is? What was it like for you to be in one of
biggest movies ever [Saturday Night Fever], and do you hope
to do more feature films?
LISA PELUSO: John Travolta was very nice to me.. of
course I was 11.. so he'd be really nasty if he was mean to an
11 yr. old... LOL ... I had no idea it was going to be such a
huge hit when I did it. It's funny to see that it's still playing!
LOL... and yes, I would love to do more feature films

TearyDreams asks: Lisa, do you enjoy the show just as
much as you did in the beginning?
LISA PELUSO: Yes. Probably even more now, that I've
gotten to know everyone.

Michelle_____ asks: Weren't you once on All My Children?
LISA PELUSO: No. I was on One Life to Live, though.

Farukguest_3a028638 asks: What do you do for fun?
LISA PELUSO: Who has time for fun? ;-) I make jewelry.. I
do hand make jewelry.. and just spend time with friends and
my husband when we do have time to see each other. I'm very
active in my church.

guest_10bc27201 asks: what is your favorite song?
LISA PELUSO: You're asking me tough questions today :) It
changes from month to month.. right now I like that song by
Savage Garden "Truly Madly Deeply"... technically that's my
favorite right now... It will be something different next week.

Biancaguest_37a028441 asks: Lisa, How do you keep your
skin so beautiful looking all the time?
LISA PELUSO: I use La Prairie products and then from my
dermatologist I use glycolic acid at night when I go to sleep...
but you'd have to ask Kevin Bennet the makeup artist at AW
the rest. He puts all these potions on me. He's the potion
master

Rose___18 asks: Who are your acting inspirations?
LISA PELUSO: There are so many. I'll just name
a few.. I absolutely loved Vivian Leigh as a kid, so
I'm sure she's influenced my work. Elizabeth Taylor
is a favorite. Meryl Streep.. Katherine Hepburn is amazing..
Philadelphia Story is my favorite. Angela Landsbury who I
was in Gypsy with as a kid. Marie Cheatham [ex-Stephanie
Wilkins Wyatt, SFT] who played my mom on SFT and Mary
Stuart [ex-Jo, SFT; now Meta on GL]... Anthony Hopkins
who I could watch reading a phone book... I could go on :)

Doys1 asks: Is there any chance you'll have a romance with Jake?
LISA PELUSO: Doubtful. I think Jake loves Vicky too much
to hurt her like that. Maybe years from now.. :) when he
realizes Lila isn't so bad after all LOL joke joke, kidding
kidding, ha ha, LOL

RYaddaYadda asks: Who will Lisa pick as a labor coach?
Cass would be my pick!
LISA PELUSO: Oh yes, I hope it will be Cass...
but since I think she's planning to tell Matt the baby's his...
it will probably be Matt, but she'll wish it was Cass..

Jazz780 asks: "Hi Lisa, so what's a normal work day like? long hours?"
LISA PELUSO: It depends. If I'm a cross over or not -- meaning you
work the morning and the afternoon. It's a long day
when you're up first in the morning and last in the afternoon.. That is no fun.

KITTENS_purrrrrr asks: What is the most embarrassing that has happened
to you on the set?
LISA PELUSO: I know! In this scene, I don't know if it aired yet... I'm going
on and on about Vicky and how she's nothing but a cat in heat... Jake comes
in and spins me really hard... well I didn't know it but my dress flew up
and my tush was flapping in the breeze. And they didn't notice it
until it went to edit and I wear thong underwear. They called me and asked
if I wore underwear... and everyone saw London and France. That's up
there with the time I was on SFT and was seducing "Warren" and I didn't
know about double stick tape to tape my nightgown down. The crew began
to laugh and I was like "how rude" and come to find out that my left breast
was out there... fortunately, the producer at the time stopped tape
so I couldn't be blackmailed with it later, unlike "Mecca"
(which one of AW's producers called this latest scene)
... I'm embarrassed just thinking about it.. ::blush::

Rose___18 asks: How do you get psyched up before you act?
LISA PELUSO: Coffee! Caffeine and a little prayer... That's about it

RYaddaYadda asks: Who would you like to see Lila end up with?
Hopefully not Grant!
LISA PELUSO: I don't know. I'm hoping Cass. Lisa's hoping... I don't know
if Cass has enough money for Lila

RAGGEDANDY1998 asks: Does your character have any
traits that you dislike?
LISA PELUSO: The perpetual lying. Yes! That's terrible!
She's got to quit that before she becomes a mom!

Jaketheman5 asks: If you were the writer
what storyline would you give Lila Roberts?
LISA PELUSO: I would like to see Lila team up with Cindy
to give Grant what he deserves and I would like to see
Lila have a career. I think it would be funny if she stumbled
on something that made her a lot of money. And I'd like to see
her find true love. But I always think she should be
Vicky's bitter enemy because it's not a soap without a little conflict! :)

Rdawson_99_Titanic asks: How long does it usually take you
to memorize a script??
LISA PELUSO: It depends on how many scenes I have...
anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and a half

Cherylguest_158d30816 asks: What was your first acting job?
LISA PELUSO: Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder commercial
when I was 5. It ran for 7 years and won a Clio.

Spunky88_88 asks: Do you think soaps get the respect they deserve?
LISA PELUSO: No. I think soaps are some of the hardest work anyone
can do. Celeste Holm [Isabelle Alden] when she was on Loving said
how hard soap opera work is. I think it's a miracle everyday that
we get through it. We do an hour of television a day whereas
other nighttime shows do an hour a week. It's half a movie!
And they take three months or more!

Godfrem asks: What is your favorite sport?
LISA PELUSO: To watch, Baseball.. to do, running.

AngieTO asks: Are you enjoying hearing from your online fans?
LISA PELUSO: Yes. I love these chats!

RAGGEDANDY1998 asks: Are there any plans to be in a
movie any time in the near future?
LISA PELUSO: Who has time? :) Another World is keeping me very busy

Rose___18 asks: What is your favorite movie?
LISA PELUSO: Again, so many.. Gone with the Wind...
such a cliché answer, but true... loved that movie as a kid, watched it over
and over.. and I own it... Philadelphia Story... It's a wonderful Life...
corny but true. I just love those corny old movies... Love Gypsy,
My Fair Lady, Sound of Music.. Wizard of Oz.. Jesus of Nazareth
with Robert Powell.. Love that movie. And recent movies...
Loved Titanic... I'm a real romantic, I love these epic dramas
with all the pomp and circumstance... I grew up in musical theater :)
Of course there's many more, but I could go on all day

Dgsl asks: How do you feel about all of the changes on AW lately?
LISA PELUSO: I can't keep up and I'm there. I think that when
we get settled again, everyone will be used to it. And sometimes
changes can't be helped and I just want to encourage the audience
to just hang in there.

Smerid asks: Lisa do you watch any other soaps?
LISA PELUSO: No, I used to check in on my friends
from time to time, but I haven't done that in a long time.
I don't really watch much TV at all. I've never seen Ally McBeal
... I keep hearing [how great it is], but I've never seen it

JefHamlin asks: Ever see anyone from SFT?
LISA PELUSO: Yes. Marie Cheatham, I saw Larry Haines
[ex-Stu Bergman] for a while when he was working on Loving
... and one of my best friends Rebecca Arthur was on
briefly as a dayplayer she played movie star Lindsey Loffer
... I don't know if anyone knows, but Rebecca
played Marianne on Perfect Strangers.

Megans_98 asks: Are you planning on staying on Another World
for a long time?
LISA PELUSO: Seems like I'm going to be there for a while
... I've got a contract for a little while longer

Grob2269 asks: I remember the great flood on Search For Tomorrow,
were you a part of that, and were those scenes difficult to do?
LISA PELUSO: No, missed it... I left before the ship went down.

Cherylguest_158d30816 asks: Do you miss the role of Ava from Loving?
LISA PELUSO: I miss the people from Loving, but I'm having
a great time at Another World. And I like Lila as much if not more
than Ava I think my favorite role is always the one I'm playing at the moment

RAGGEDANDY1998 asks: What would you have
Lila change about herself in the future?
LISA PELUSO: The lying! Stop that lying!

AngieTO asks: I think you play your part so realistically,
you are one of the best actors to be on AW in many years,
hope you stay for a long time.
LISA PELUSO: Shucks.. ::blush:: ::foot shuffle:: Thank you very much :)

AngieTO asks: The scene where Donna sprays you with
the fire extinguisher was fantastic, you really looked shocked.
LISA PELUSO: It was pretty cold! LOL I think I really was! That was a fun scene
... probably up there with the pie fight I had with my sister Carly on Search...
I love rolling around in the cream and in this case the fire extinguisher soap suds.

Spunky88_88 asks: What is your biggest pet peeve?
LISA PELUSO: Oh, Oh Oh... My biggest pet peeve is when people who can't
speak English answer phones when you're trying to order food. You're trying
to give your order.. No beans! I said beans! "Greens?" No Beans! It's awful,
I hate that! :) LOL And it happens in New York all the time! It's okay, I'm not
one of those people who thinks if you live in America you must speak English,
I just think you shouldn't be answering a phone to take a food order! LOL

AngieTO asks: I loved the scene when you told Grant he should start
swimming to get off the boat, it was hilarious.
LISA PELUSO: Didn't he do a great job with that? I mean,
he really looked nauseous!

CHERRYCAKES asks: What type of music do you listen to?
LISA PELUSO: I like R&B, I like Rock & Roll and my favorite is gospel.

SODhost: Lisa, thank you very much! And thank you all for joining us!
LISA PELUSO: Gotta go and yell at the parking attendant again
and put quarters in my meter since I refuse to park there anymore!
LOL Thank you for your time and coming to chat with me!
Let's do it again soon! God Bless and keep watching!
